Beginning June 15th, Google has announced that they will implement changes to their current AdWords policy that will allow advertisers to include trademark keywords in their ad text. However, affiliate marketers should be awarr that this change will not impact their partner network’s current purchasing restrictions that are in effect for their product suppliers and the marketed brand’s affiliate networks.

So, before you go out and start buying up AdWords inventory for your PPC campaigns with your target brands in your AdWords campaigns just because Google says you can now, keep in mind that affiliates should always check their partner’s guidelines first.  Each company’s terms of use and affiliate marketing partner guidelines should detail keywords and brand phrases that may not be purchased or contained within your AdWords campaign and respective ad creative.
